Trade Statistic as of 7 Apr 2012

Overall market activities on 2 Apr 2012 to 6 Apr 2012 is decreasing towards the end of the week. Local institutions' selling has tamed and on Friday turned to net buyers. Foreign investors are also decreasing their money inflow into local market as of last Friday. This might due to the peak reached by our local market recently and overbought correction might happen.

Foreign investors have been the net buyers in the last 5 weeks as of 6 Apr 2012 and local investors including institutional investors and retail player have been the net seller in the last 5 weeks as of 6 Apr 2012.

Trade statistic for last 20 days

From the statistic it clearly show that in the last 1 month, our market has been supported by foreign investors in spite of the selling from local players, this is why KLCI has been on the top side and being resilient. Local players' exit may be due to anticipation of upcoming General Election which the date is still unknown. Foreign investors' inflow might be due to the dis-satisfactory market performance in their own market- US, Europe in particular. If foreign inflow is continued, our market might see even greater height going forward.
